- Housing Authority (‘Authority’) bills on six-monthly basis, 01 January and 01 July each year, ground rent on all Housing Authority leases leased by customers (‘leaseholders’).
- While a good number of leaseholders pay the ground rent on a timely basis, there are still a number of leaseholders who default on their payment.
- The Authority reminds leaseholders on the payment of their six-monthly ground rent by 31 January and 31 July each year. Failure to pay ground rent in a timely manner charges interest on the arrears (6.25% per annum) and, in the extreme, may result in the cancellation of leases via re-entry. Re-entry is where one could cease to hold any lease rights on the property (result in loss of property ownership).
- Further, please note, that the Authority will soon cease the mailing of statements. All statements will be provided digitally through an e-statement portal. If you have not updated your record with the Authority, then please do so at the following link. Customer Information Form (jotform.com).
